Colorado really is a winter wonderland. The Eddy is the perfect basecamp for skiers headed to the many ski resorts found on I-70. Or stay closer and enjoy some of the stunning scenery with a snowmobile experience, or head into the backcountry and go snowshoeing. Raise the stakes with an intense afternoon climbing North Table Mountain on a fat tire bike, or go ice climbing in Clear Creek Canyon. Plus, there are miles and miles of trails that are great for cross-country skiing as well.

Lube up the chain and check your gears because we’ve got some riding to do. Just a short drive away from The Eddy are some of the best mountain biking trails in Colorado. Pedal for more than 20 miles along Clear Creek Trail or gear down and attempt one of the state’s most iconic climbs along the twisting road of Lookout Mountain, which climbs 1,300 feet in 4.3 miles. Other popular trails include 32nd Avenue Bike Trail, which goes through a tunnel under Coors Brewery, North Table Mountain that features a 7.4-mile look, and White Ranch featuring 18-miles of trails.
Need a tune-up before hitting the trails? The Eddy is near several bike shops, including Big Ring Cycles and Golden Bike Library. Plus, don’t forget to hit up one of the many craft breweries that call Golden home after your trek.
